Why does my combi boiler lose pressure?

Why does my combi boiler lose pressure?

Is your combi boiler loosing pressure? Have you topped it up only to find the pressure dropping again?

Its important to find out the cause if your boiler is losing pressure as it could be down to a number of faults.

Remember you should NEVER open your boiler case.  Only a qualified Gas Safe approved engineer should do this.

Simple checks you can carry out at home.

Firstly check all visible radiator joints for any obvious signs of a leak this includes both radiators valves and connections. Remember a leak could go undetected in your under floor piping. Heating engineers will have specialist equipment to diagnose under floor leaks.

Check water isn’t leaking from your over flow (pressure relief valve (PRV). This is the pipe which comes from the boiler and terminates outside your home.

Make an appointment with a Gas Safe engineer to correctly and diagnose and rectify the issue.

Remember regular boiler servicing helps reduce the chance of costly breakdowns and extends the life of your boiler
