“I recently had Rob and his team remove my old heating oil tank. From start to finish they were professional and tidy. This is the first time I have used Total Energy but I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommended them to friends and family.”
John, Gillingham
Oil tanks typically last at least 10 years and if well maintained they can last much longer. However, it is important to get a professional opinion in if you notice any signs of wear and tear.
If your oil tank causes a leak or spill it can be incredibly costly to clear up and will have a huge detrimental effect on the environment.
Traditionally oil tanks were constructed of a single layer of steel and if a crack were to appear this resulted in oil being leaking into the environment. New bunded oil tanks have a double skin. This means that should a crack or leak appear the oil will be safely contained in the outer skin.
Replacing your oil tank will usually include the following steps.
Initially we will assess the condition of your old tank.
Any remaining oil will be safely removed. Clean oil will be pumped into a holding vessel.
The old tank will be removed and recycled.
If you are re locating the oil tank our team can construct a new concrete base for you prior to the new oil tank being installed. Once in position our engineers will connect the oil supply line.
If there was any re usable oil from the existing tank we will pump this into the new one.
The engineer will carry out a comprehensive check of the installation including everything is safe and working.
