This year once again we were truly blown away by donations and our heartfelt thanks go out to all those who gifted and donated such wonderful items.
We received an abundance of knitted soft toys and clothing, toys, toothbrushes, stationary, note pads, stickers, books and many more useful and fun gifts!
Again, we thank Wendy from Dorset Police who each year donates a huge box. All our ladies who knit from Wimborne to Wincanton to Castle Cary it is much appreciated. Children find such comfort in soft knitted items.
Total Energy Services who supplied over £500 worth of toys. Michelle from a local laundry business who donated over 100 flannels. Douch Family Funeral directors who donated so many gorgeous, knitted items and other local businesses.
This year we have managed to send over 130 shoeboxes and since 2019 we have sent over 500 shoeboxes to children in need all over the world.
Holly Lamb has been organising the Blackmore Vale & Stour and Avon (Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire) shoebox appeal for 5 years now and has seen the campaign grow and bring joy to hundreds of children.
‘This year I am once again beyond delighted with the amount of donations received. It has shown how our local community really comes together. Please remember you don’t have to only donate new items. We thank all those who have taken the time to go out and purchase such lovely gifts, donate or those who knit such beautiful soft toys and clothing.’
Sending love and hope to ALL children
The Operation Christmas child shoeboxes go to thousands of children across the world affected by war, famine and poverty. Now more than ever have the desperate plights of those in need have been bought to our attention. Many of the shoeboxes will go to displaced children around the world who will be able to find comfort in their box of treasures in what should be a joyous time of the year for every child.
Currently Samaritan’s Purse in partnership with local churches are on the ground helping to provide humanitarian aid and assistance to people in areas of conflict and poverty.
