Total Energy Services recently replaced a customers existing oil tank with a plastic bunded oil tank in a village near Blandford Forum.
Winterbourne Houghton is a beautiful historic village a few miles from Blandford Forum. Due to the rural location of many Dorset villages our customer has a oil fired heating system.
In this instance the existing oil tank required replacing. Traditionally, oil tanks would be made of steel. Modern oil tanks tend to be made of plastic and are bunded i.e. they are have an outer and inner skin. This means should a crack appear in the inner skin you are protected with the outer skin against oil leaks and spillages.
With a bunded tank i.e., double skin you have double the protection. A plastic tank is more cost effective than its steel counterpart and tends to be safe and secure due to the lockable outer lid. For extra safety and security the inner lid can also be locked.
In this case, there was an existing concrete base for the tank to be sited on but if you do not have an existing concrete base, our engineers are able to construct this for you as well as laying pipework from the tank to the boiler if required.
A watchman was installed for ease of monitoring oil consumption.
A watchman is an automated device that allows you to easily monitor the oil levels with a oil tank, alerting you when your oil is running low to minimise the risk of running out of fuel.
Total Energy Services can safely and inline with environmental regulations remove your old oil tank.
Replacing your oil tank with Total Energy Services is a simple process. Whether you require an entire oil fired heating system upgrade or just a new oil tank we are here to help.
