New Build Air Source Heat Pump Installation Near Poole
28/04/2026
Future-Proof Heating System Designed from Day One
This project near Poole involved the installation of a fully designed air source heat pump system for a new build property, ensuring the home was efficient, compliant, and ready for long-term performance from the outset.
While this was a new build installation, homeowners replacing oil or LPG systems in existing properties can now benefit from the increased £9,000 government grant.
The Brief
For this new build, the goal was to create a modern, efficient heating system that would:
- Meet current building regulations
- Deliver strong heating and hot water performance
- Provide full control across multiple zones
- Be durable in a coastal environment
What We Did
We installed a complete heating and hot water system tailored to the property:
- Daikin Altherma Monobloc air source heat pump
- Daikin unvented hot water cylinder installed in the utility
- Anti-freeze protection valves for system safety
- Full commissioning, testing, and system setup
All equipment was installed with Daikin’s 5-year manufacturer warranty for peace of mind.
Heating System Design
Because this was a new build, we were able to design the system properly from the ground up:
- Installed wet underfloor heating across the entire ground floor
- Fitted underfloor heating manifold for efficient distribution
- Installed 8 column radiators upstairs with thermostatic valves
- Added 3 towel rails with matching valves
The system was zoned for maximum control:
- Separate zones for upstairs, downstairs, and towel rails
- Smart thermostats for flexible room-by-room control
Plumbing & Pipework
- Installed all new flow and return heating pipework throughout the property
- Connected heat pump to system using correctly sized pipework
- Ran hot and cold supplies to bathrooms, kitchen, utility, and W.C
- First fix plumbing completed for future connections where needed
All external pipework was fully insulated to maximise efficiency.
Coastal Protection & Upgrades
Given the property’s location near the coast, we included:
- Blygold coating on the outdoor condenser to protect against corrosion and extend lifespan
- Full sound survey and system calculations to ensure compliance and performance
- Installation of a water softener system to protect pipework and appliances
The Result
The homeowner now has a fully integrated, high-performance heating system designed specifically for modern living:
- Efficient underfloor heating throughout the ground floor
- Comfortable, controllable heating upstairs
- Strong hot water performance for a busy household
- Long-lasting system designed for coastal conditions
£9,000 Government Grant – What to Know
Although grants don’t apply to new builds, it’s worth noting that homeowners upgrading from oil or LPG in existing properties can now receive £9,000 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
Why MCS Certification Matters
As an MCS registered installer, all of our renewable installations are designed and installed to strict industry standards.
This means:
- Systems are correctly sized and designed from the start
- Installations meet government-backed quality standards
- Full certification is provided for compliance and resale
- Eligibility for grants (where applicable)
