Heat Pump Installed in Yeovil, Somerset

Our customer lives in the rural village of Sparkford where their existing heating was provided by an oil fired boiler. Keen to move towards a more energy efficient way of life a heat pump was the perfect solution to lower your carbon footprint with a highly efficient and reliable low carbon heating system.

A heat pump is an innovative system that extracts heat from the environment and transfers it into your home. They can also work in reverse during warmer months to cool your home. Unlike conventional heating systems that generate heat, heat pumps move heat, making them highly efficient.

Benefits of Heat Pumps

Reduced energy bills

One of the primary benefits of heat pumps is their energy efficiency. Since they transfer heat rather than generate it, they can produce more energy than they consume. This efficiency can result in significant savings on energy bills.

Environmental Impact

Heat pumps have a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional heating systems. By using renewable heat from the environment, they reduce reliance on fossil fuels, making them an eco-friendly choice.

Versatility

Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, offering year-round comfort. This dual functionality can simplify your home’s climate control system, eliminating the need for separate heating and cooling units.

Low Maintenance

Heat pumps generally require less maintenance than combustion heating systems. Regular checks by a professional service can ensure your system runs efficiently for longer.

Daikin Altherma

This makes it suitable for a variety of applications, including renovations, replacements, and large new buildings.

Overall, the Daikin Altherma offers a comprehensive solution for heating needs, combining advanced technology with user-friendly design. Its energy efficiency, low noise operation, and versatile application options make it a top choice for home owners.  Delivering reliable performance and superior comfort.

The process

Our team initially safely disposed of our customers existing oil tank, oil and boiler, along with their existing hot water cylinder. Our engineers power flushed our customers system to remove any sludge and debris that had built up to ensure that the heat pump has a clean system to run off ensuring optimal performance.  Next we installed the air source heat pump along with a large capacity hot water cylinder which comes with a great 5 year warranty. A magnetic filter was installed to ensure any future debris is effectively collected and removed from the system.

Our engineers also replaced 3 radiators with compact high efficiency radiators, along with the award winning Daikin Madoka controller, this sleek yet compact controller allows you to easily and effectively control your heat pump from your phone. In fact setting and finetuning your controller is simple and helps you attain higher energy savings and more comfort. The system can host up to three different temperature schedules, and enables you to restrict menu functions individually.  You can also set your outdoor unit to a quiet mode and track the energy consumption.

Our customer was then issued with an NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificate, and the system was registered for building regulations. The heat pump was also registered for its manufactures warranty.

Our customer is now delighted with their highly efficient and reliable new heating system.

£7,500 Government Grant

As Total Energy Services are MCS accredited this also meant our customer could take advantage of the Governments Boiler Upgrade Scheme and benefit from the £7,500 grant that is currently being offered.
