Total Energy Services are proud to look after many of Dorset’s medical establishments. One of our medical centres in Swanage recently required its annual commercial boiler service.
Just like your domestic boiler requires a yearly service, boilers in commercial settings are no different. In fact, commercial boilers in particular are subject to more wear and tear due to their heavy duty use.
An annual service ensures a qualified engineer can inspect, clean and recommend any improvements to you. A boiler that has been regularly serviced will typically last a lot longer than a boiler that has not been properly looked after. Spotting signs of wear and tear early goes a long way towards preventing large costly breakdowns further down the line. Furthermore, many boiler warranties are only valid if the boiler has had an annual service carried out.
The key difference between a domestic boiler and commercial boiler is the boilers output measured in kW. They can be larger in size but are typically more powerful. They can provide heating for much larger spaces than the typical domestic home. Some businesses for example may have 4 commercial boilers within a designated ‘plant room’.
Anything greater than 70kW may fall into the category of commercial boiler. Although larger homes may require a boiler of this output to ensure the home is adequately heated without putting excessive pressure on the boiler.
