Best boiler for a 4 bedroom house

What is the best boiler for a 4 bedroom house?

If your home has more than two bedrooms there is a high chance there is more than one bathroom. Boilers which are suitable for a one bedroom, one bathroom flat are different from those suitable for a larger home. For this reason it is always crucial to get professional advice from a Gas safe (Gas, LPG) or OFTEC (oil) heating engineer.

It is absolutely not recommended to order a boiler off the internet and attempt to fit yourself.  Not only is this illegal, in doing so you are putting your family at risk.

Which boiler is best for me?

Firstly you should consider how many bathrooms you have. Despite the rise in combi boilers which provide both heating and hot water, larger homes may not always be suitable for this type of boiler. This is because combi boilers heat water on the spot rather than having a store of water in a cylinder like a system or regular boiler. Therefore some smaller combi boilers could be more likely to struggle keeping up with a high demand.  Older and listed properties may also not be suitable for a combi boiler as the existing pipework would not be able to cope with mains pressure water coming into the home.

Worcester Bosch have an award winning range of Gas, LPG and oil boilers which are suitable for larger homes with multiple bathrooms. Boilers which can provide a high flow rate of water are perfect as they can cope with the higher hot water demand that comes from a larger home with more than one bathroom.

For example the Worcester Greenstar CDi classic system boiler is a top of the range system boiler that uses a hot water cylinder to allow a high rate of hot water, perfect for homes with more than two bathrooms.

If you require or would like to have a combi boiler the Worcester Greenstar CDi high flow is Worcester’s leading floor standing combi boiler for excellent hot water rates. With the CDi high flow you have the benefit of instantaneous hot water available on demand.

Both the CDi classic system boiler and the CDi High flow are also available as a LPG boiler as well.

Oil fired heating systems

If you have an oil fired heating system Worcester Bosch have both internal and external options to suit a home with more than one bathroom.

The Greenstar Heatslave II is the UK’s most popular oil boiler, its high rate of water and compact size which can fit under a standard kitchen worktop.

Alternatively if you would like to free up space within your home you can opt for the Worcester Greenstar Heatslave II external boiler, this boiler is the perfect option with built in frost protection and a sleek modern design.

Grant Oil boilers are also a good option for larger homes, having both internal and external options.

Vaillant and Glow Worm are also good options for homes of all size and have a range of excellent models.

Boiler location

Boiler location is also a really important consideration, especially if you have a family. A lot of boilers are located in the kitchen however some people prefer to have their boilers located elsewhere.

In summary, the best boiler for a 4 bedroom house really depends on the amount of bathrooms and hot water and heating usage. It’s always best to seek professional advice to ensure you go ahead with the boiler that is right for you and your family.
