Total Energy Services recently fitted a new central heating system and water heater in a rural parish near the market town of Wareham, Dorset.
St Mary’s church was largely re-built in the 1880’s, retaining the lower part of the old medieval tower. The 5 ancient bells were restored for the millennium.
The existing heating consisted of a redundant coal-fired boiler which didn’t work. Instead a mixture of electric fan heaters and infrared heaters were relied upon. This didn’t provide sufficient heat and damp patches made the church rather uncomfortable. There was also no means of having hot water available.
After a detailed survey, a Grant Vortex oil-fired boiler, new pipework and radiators that ran round the peripheral of the building were installed.
Grant Vortex boilers are an award-winning oil boiler range, endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust. They also feature under the Which? best buy boilers. Grant oil boilers are great for those looking for an affordable yet energy efficient boiler. These boilers are suited to domestic and commercial environments due to their variety of heating outputs.
Prior to the new heating system the church did not have access to hot water, therefore an under sink hot water heater was installed.
With noticeable benefits in thermal comfort, and reduced bills for the church the success of the new heating system was self-evident. The church is delighted with the results and are thoroughly enjoying the even warmth and the energy saving benefits of the new boiler.
