New Energy Efficient Oil Boiler and Central Heating system fitted in Somerset

Total Energy Services recently fitted a new oil fired boiler and central heating system to a Grade II listed building near Yeovil, Somerset.
This former Georgian vicarage with an adjoining cottage prior to the new installation had two separate heating systems. The main house had an inefficient oil fired heating system and the adjoining cottage used electric storage heaters.
Total Energy installed a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar oil boiler and central heating system. By removing the storage heaters in the adjoining cottage,both heating systems were combined and are powered by the oil boiler. The cottage is heated on a separate zone to the main house allowing the homeowners to only heat the cottage when in use, meaning a big reduction in fuel bills.
The new Worcester Bosch Greenstar Oil boiler comes with a 7-year warranty and is highly efficient, it is estimated the old boiler was only 60% – 70% efficient. New boilers all come with condensing technology which allows gases that would otherwise dissolve into the atmosphere immediately, to be re-used to heat the central heating system, resulting in a big reduction in heat loss.
A 300l un-vented cylinder was also installed to provide the house with plentiful hot water in under 16 minutes from cold!
