Are you feeling the chill creeping in as your boiler struggles to keep up with the winter demands? In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to repressurise popular boiler brands like Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, and Glowworm. Please note if you are unsure at any point it is always best to contact a Gas Safe registered engineer, who will be able to fault find and rectify any issues. You should NEVER remove the boilers casing.
To repressurise a Worcester boiler you need to locate the filling loop – it’s usually a flexible silver or grey hose connected to the boiler.
Next, ensure the boiler is turned off completely before starting the process. The pressure gauge should be showing around 1 bar for optimal performance – if it’s lower, it’s time to add more water.
Attach one end of the filling loop to the valve on your boiler and slowly turn on both valves. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge and stop when it reaches between 1-1.5 bars.
Once you’ve reached your desired pressure level, close both valves and remove the filling loop. Turn your boiler back on and and this should rectify the pressure issue.
First, locate the filling loop on your Vaillant boiler – it’s usually a flexible silver or grey hose. Then, check that both ends of the filling loop are securely attached to the boiler.
Next, turn off the boiler and wait for it to cool down before opening any valves. Slowly open one valve at a time on the filling loop until you hear water flowing into the system.
Monitor the pressure gauge on your Vaillant boiler – aim to reach around 1 to 1.5 bar of pressure. Once you reach this level, close both valves on the filling loop and remove it from the boiler.
Finally, turn your Vaillant boiler back on and check for any leaks. If everything looks good, you’re all set! Your repressurised Vaillant boiler should now be working efficiently again.
Is your Baxi boiler losing pressure, causing heating issues in your home?
First, locate the filling loop on your Baxi boiler – it usually looks like a small hose with valves at each end.
Next, ensure that both valves on the filling loop are closed before gently opening one of them to allow water to flow into the system. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge and stop filling once it reaches the recommended level, typically around 1-1.5 bar.
After closing both valves again, check for any leaks and reset your boiler if necessary. Repressurising your Baxi boiler should only take a few minutes and can help restore efficient heating throughout your home.
Maintaining the correct pressure in your boiler is essential for its performance and longevity. Regularly checking and repressurising your boiler will help prevent disruptions to your heating and hot water supply. With these easy-to-follow steps, you can keep your home warm and comfortable all year round.
