What does the future hold for the way we heat our homes?

What about my home?
The United Kingdom’s housing stock is extremely varied. The majority of our homes are not particularly well insulated, therefore you may need to undertake insulation improvements to really benefit from a heat pump. This is why it is so important to ensure you have a heat pump designed and installed by a trusted expert.
Prior to 1980 insulation wasn’t really much of a consideration. Gas was cheap and boilers were designed to work at a high temperatures for intermittent periods which heated homes very effectively.
Heat pumps require a well insulated building to work efficiently as they are designed to work with a low temperature heating systems, unlike your current boiler. Therefore for a heat pump to work effectively you may be required to make some home insulation improvements.
