What is ErP labelling?

ErP labels is short for Energy related products.  In 2015 the European Union set this new regulation, which is designed to enhance the efficiency of heating and hot water products to homeowners.

By having an ErP label homeowners can easily see the efficiency of their appliance, ErP defines the minimum performance that manufacturers must meet with the overall aim of lowering carbon emissions.  This will help to increase the efficiency across UK homes as well as reducing your fuel bills.

The ErP label runs from A++ to G, with A++ being the most energy efficient and G the least energy efficient. At Total Energy Services we only install high efficiency boilers that are A-Rated on the ErP scale. This requires the boiler to be over 90% energy efficient.

This is really important as heating accounts for 55% of what you spend in a year in energy bills, a huge benefit of modern boilers is that they are condensing. This means that instead of losing a large amount of heat through the flue, the larger heat exchanger present in modern boilers means more heat is recovered.

If you require any more information on how a new energy efficient boiler could benefit you, or more information about ErP labelling then please get in touch.
